How to use
Generate an opt-in link
In the Optigram dashboard, generate an opt-in link. You get a Telegram deep link
(https://t.me/<bot>?start=<token>), a QR code, and a pasteable button snippet for
funnels or sites.
- Contact-bound tokens are single-use and map to an existing GHL contact.
- Capture-new tokens can be reused (website or printed QR) until they expire; the first
/startcreates or matches a GHL contact.
What the lead sees
They open Telegram, tap Start, and message the bot. Token-less /start (someone found the bot
via search) is rejected: they are told they need an opt-in link, and no GHL contact is created.
Optigram does not cold-message anyone. Telegram bots cannot start a chat.
Inbound (Telegram → GHL)
Mapped chats post into the GHL Conversations inbox and can drive workflows and Conversation AI. Text and photos are in scope; other media may appear as a placeholder until full media parity ships.
Outbound (GHL → Telegram)
Replies, workflow sends, and bulk actions that hit this provider are delivered as Telegram text. Limits:
about 30 messages/second per bot and 1 message/second per chat. Bursts are
queued. Sending to a contact who never opted in fails with status no_telegram_optin — it does
not error as a raw API failure, and it does not attempt a cold DM.
